The Bloody Beetroots are back, fashin out some meaty electro with their latest release, Rock Steady.
Fast passed, energetic and 100% Trashy, Rock Steady brings The Beetroots back to doing what they do best, (before they got all lost sometime around when Warp was released).
After a disappointing list of releases over the last year or two, this latest release is sure to throw the group back into the spotlight for all the right reasons.
The video feels like the trailer for some teen roadtrip/action film; Deathproof meets Sons Of Anarchy. Cars, Booze, Guns and a few stray tits flying around. I can honestly say i wish i was there for shooting this, it just looks fucking fun!
No album is set to be released, no EP either. For the moment Rock Steady is all there is. But that’s okay, If this is the way The Beetroots are heading, waiting another few months before a new release is fine, it will be worth it.

Sydney hardman Filth Collins is set to release his latest outing, the Fat Boy EP through Caspa’s lable Dub Police.
With a strong grounding in the now waning sydney drum and bass scene and non stop touring as a dj has led to Filth Collins becoming one of the most revered and we talked about dubstep producers in Australia.
After sensational success with his previous release, the Levels Ep, Filth Collins has almost reinvented his sound, producing much heavier and darker tracks.
Relying less on uplifting melodies and more on moody ambient synths backed by slow bass-heavy drops reminiscent of Benga, 6blocc or Caspa.
As a whole, the ep is tight, superbly produced and behoves you to get up and move.
The Fat Boy EP launch party will be held on the 4th of July at Bel Air with Support coming from locals Crysist and Everto as well as a host of local talent.

Axwell, Dutch House, Electro, Madison Square Garden, Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello, Swedish House Mafia
The monumental dance electro house artists who brought us hits like One and Save The World have finally called it a day.
After the final leg of the 2012 which will announced in August, Angelo, Ingrosso and Axwell will part ways as Swedish House Mafia.
No announcement was made from the group as to why the break up, just a simple thank you to fans.
“We want to thank every single one of you who came on this journey. We came, we raved, we loved.”
With numerous accolades under their belt, most importantly selling out Madison Square Garden in under 11 Minutes, Swedish House Mafia have undoubtedly made one of the most important impacts on dance music today, influencing producers from all genres and brining Electro/Dutch house to the masses.
This may mark a sad day for fans of Electro/Dutch house but the closure of a group this size does not mean the end of the individual artists who stood as three of the most important and influential artists in today’s house music scene, a position which is sure to be held long after the breakup of Swedish House Mafia.
It will be interesting to see where each of these three titans goes and who will the next super group of the electro world be.

Deadbeat and Hazy – which one are you? This mad pair is hell bent on taking Hip Hop to the next level as they have their way with Sydney’s live music scene. These guys are creating their own version of Alternative Hip Hop with DJ/Producer Hazy pushing forward relentlessly layering and infusing his Hip Hop beats with virulent Dub sounds. Deadbeat’s deep flow fits perfectly to the Hazy beats as he throws light on current social issues, as well as paying homage to the grand party atmosphere of our fine day.
Having recently supported the Daily Meds, Big Dumb Kid, and Kade MC, the list of venues hosting the pair is growing fast; The World Bar, The Sando, Oxford Art Factory, FBi Social, The Abercrombie and The Flinders Hotel. Deadbeat and Hazy now have their sights firmly set on playing those fat sets on the high festival platforms we all love.
Their debut album ‘Baked not Fried’ is due for release this month and their drive for collaborations proves insatiable with new featured artists including Big Dumb Kid, Old Men of Moss Mountain and Subsketch, but let’s not forget Kade MC, Maya Kite and the very bad man, Chow Crack. In 2010 and 2011, the pair released ‘The Chronicles of Deadbeat and Hazy’ and ‘Hungry and Lazy’ EPs which have since gained them regular rotation with FBi, Bondi FM and Triple H. Want visuals? Get to the Deadbeat and Hazy YouTube Channel for a list of inventive clips made by the intensely talented homies and divas that make up this clan.

Drum & Bass, Electro, Knife Party, Pendulum, Rob Swire, Slam, Triple J
Recently Rob Swire of Knife Party informed Tripple J that he and band mate Gareth McGrillen are saying goodbye to Pendulum for good.
For those of you who were unaware, Knife Party formed in mid 2011 as a duo between Pendulum members Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen. after their debute performance in August 2011 in Ibiza, Knife Party have shot to unparalled success within the dance scene.
Swire commented on the success of Knife Party and not wishing to continue Pendulum, saying “The Knife Party thing is going so well we don’t really feel like going back to junior school anytime soon” (http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/musicnews/s3526471.htm)
In one respect, this is sad news for Pendulum fans who will no longer have the chance to see Pendulum perform again. But All good things msut come to an end and considering the drum and bass scene is not as strong as it was 10 years ago when Pendulum rose to international fame, it is only natural that Rob and Gareth move with the times and continue producing music relevant to the current market needs.
Swire commented on this market change, stating that “it was time for something new and the music scene itself had changed”
In closing, lets have a moments silence and appreciate one of the greatest tracks Pendulum ever produced, Slam.
